CMC 116: Introduction to Clinical Skills
Through class discussion, lecture, video and simulation of various situations, students will use critical thinking to apply proper protocol. Materials will be discussed and practiced, such as OSHA standards, various ethical situations and basic safety and infection control in all areas of the medical office. Students will also simulate communication with patients in a variety of diverse situations. Access and use of community resources will also be emphasized. The title of this course was previously Clinical Application Skills.
Level I Prereq: Academic Reading and Writing Levels of 6; Academic Math Level 3; Admission to the Medical Assisting program; BIO 109 or BIO 111, minimum grade "C+"; HSC 101 minimum grade "C+"
