PROGRAM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid high school diploma or GED. Applications may be accepted prior to high school graduation
or GED completion.
- Students must register for and complete the Introduction to Online Learning course.
A link to online registration for this course appears under the heading "Want to Apply?"
Although students are given 5 weeks to complete this course, it is often
completed in as little as 15 hours. The course is not subject to standard tuition rates, and
the cost is minimal. WCC considers it an important step to help ensure success in completing
your online coursework.
- It is recommended that applicants have completed the following high school
courses or equivalent WCC courses with a grade of "C" or better:
- One year of high school biology or BIO 101 (Concepts of Biology).
- One semester of high school computer literacy, or CIS 100 or an equivalent course.
- Admission to the Dental Assisting program is contingent upon students declaring that
they have specific physical and cognitive abilities. (See Declaration Form). WCC reserves the right
to request that students successfully demonstrate the specific cognitive and physical abilities related
to the Dental Assisting program.
CONTINUING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Program courses are sequential and complemented with appropriate support courses. All courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better in order to graduate from this program.
Students must demonstrate a proficiency in computer usage or complete a computer course prior to enrolling in DEN 212 (Dental Practice Management).
A current CPR card is required prior to enrolling in DEN 130
