Communication » General Information
Many people are more afraid of public speaking. And because
of that, many students avoid speech classes as long as possible.
But at WCC, communication classes can build skills you might
need in other courses. They can develop your confidence, self-esteem,
and ability to think under pressure. That doesn't mean all
the courses are about speaking in public. Some are designed
to sharpen your skills of self-expression and improve your
capacity to resolve conflicts.
Communication skills and training can lead to careers in
everything from advertising and journalism to teaching and
performance art.
Whatever path you choose, the skills are valuable in almost
any environment. Why not develop them now while you have the
chance?
The humanities requirements of a four-year degree may be
satisfied at WCC. See a counselor for details.
