Why Life Sciences?
Are there really 60,000 miles of blood vessels in the human body?
The courses in the Life Sciences department are current, challenging
and fun. They do teach the basics of the body and life, but there are courses
that delve deeply into the realm of biotech and Genomics (the Human Genome
Project), stem cell research and drug development.
WCC has just updated all its labs and our students learn using the
latest in technology, they participate in original interactive activities
and have access to a dedicated Life Sciences Computer Center.
Transfer Opportunities
All of the biology courses have been specifically designed to transfer to
other Michigan institutions of higher learning to the target institution's
specific corresponding courses. You won't lose a credit! It's always a good idea
to check with a counselor.
Other biology courses, such as BIO 109 and BIO 111, have been created
to augment the Allied Health and Nursing programs.
