Economics: Where product and pocketbook meet

Do you understand rising fuel prices? Why interest rates and the Federal Reserve matter? You're not alone. The prices of fuel and the "price of money" are influenced by economic forces. With a little knowledge you could make economics work for you. Learn more about it with these WCC courses:

Build "intellectual capital"

While the rewards of a social science education may not seem immediate, they are tremendously valuable. At their most basic level, social science courses promote understanding. They challenge you to understand your U.S. culture-its social, political, and economic institutions-and to appreciate cultures that are different from your own.

Think of it as an investment that can significantly expand your "fund" of knowledge about the world around you, building the intellectual equivalent of money in the bank. You'll find yourself drawing on this fund for the rest of your life.
