With mounting competition from home and abroad, the need for innovation has never been keener,
said Larry Schmitt, co-founder of Ann Arbor-based Inovo Technologies. Schmitt is author of a
new curriculum to teach the innovation process at Washtenaw Community College.

Employees at Ann Arbor's L3 Communications EOTech are learning to speak the same language.
While they all know English, it's not always easy for employees to communicate.
The relatively young company, makers of holographic weapon sights, is growing fast,
said Robin Clukey, human resource manager. "We're trying to enhance the repeatability
of all of our processes. To do that, we need to enhance the skills of people in a leadership role."
