  1. Adobe Lightroom The Digital Photographer's Best Friend

    Prerequisite(s): "Computer Basics: Windows," or equivalent Windows class or experience. Photoshop or Photoshop Elements experience is suggested but not required.

    Whether you're an amateur or professional photographer, you'll wonder how you kept your sanity before Lightroom, Adobe's software to help you manage, organize and correct images. Lightroom offers five functional modules: Library, to organize your images; Develop, to enhance your images; and Slide Show, Web Gallery, and Print, to share your images. Lightroom works hand-in-hand with Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, or as a stand-alone application.

    The optional book, "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Classroom in a Book," ISBN 9780321700933, is available at the WCC Bookstore.

    Improve your shooting techniques by learning how to use histogram analysis, dynamic range, depth of field, and field of view. Discover advanced techniques for sharpening images, correcting digital artifacts and lens distortions, lighting with accessories, managing image files, and manipulating tone and color. You'll also find out if digital SLR cameras are right for you.

  9. Drawing with Colored Pencils 1 Art at Your Fingertips!

    Prerequisite(s): All skill levels are welcome.

    Join Barbara Goodsitt, published illustrator and member of the Colored Pencil Society of America for this exploration of various colored pencil techniques to create vivid "paintings" from the point of a pencil. You will experiment with color, layering, blending, shading, creating textures, composition and more. Learn how to transfer images from photos and sketches. Many demonstrations and individual support are provided to students of every level. 6 sessions.

    Bring an 11" x 14" Stonehenge or Bristol Vellum pad and a 2B and 2H graphite pencil to the first class. Supplies may cost up to an additional $50. A Supply list will be emailed prior to the first class.

    Prerequisite(s): Designed as continuation of Drawing with Colored Pencils 1. For new students, having basic drawing skills are suggested.

    Continue to develop and improve your skills in this intermediate level class. Learn techniques to create dynamic compositions and improve your skills in rendering water, glass, animals, flowers and more. 6 sessions.
