Medical Transcription: Part 1 Online Make a Career Change!
Prerequisite(s): High school diploma or equivalent, good typing skills (at least 30 wpm recommended), and an understanding of spoken and written English, including grammar and punctuation.
Have you considered a new career in health care? Enjoy a learning experience that gives you a comprehensive and realistic "work world" training that you will complete within a year. This online career training program by Career Step is self-paced and features 800 actual sound files to practice transcription. Most transcriptionists work from the flexibility of home! Student resources include forums, online technical and academic support, newsletters, and graduate support. In addition a PC transcription foot pedal is included, and texts are provided electronically. Part 1 has 16 modules that combine knowledge with hands-on training. In Part 2, you will finish the last five modules and your certificate is awarded after the final exam. Get on your way to an exciting new career!
You must register online. Please click on the Medical Transcriptionist Certificate link and read the requirements carefully to make certain you meet them prior to registration. Refunds cannot be granted after the login has been provided. A computer headset is needed. Students should contact WCC LifeLong Learning upon completion date of Part 1 to receive instructions for Part 2 registration. The combined tuition and fees for both Part 1 and Part 2 is $1,940. ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification
In this class you'll learn the causes of foodborne illnesses and how to prevent them. You'll learn about food safety systems, facility cleaning and sanitizing, food safety regulations, and employee training. You will take the ServSafe certification test at the end of the day. If you pass the exam, you'll receive a certificate as a ServSafe Food Protection Manager. It is suggested that you begin to study the book before the class.
A book is required: "ServSafe Essentials," 5th edition, ISBN 9781582802220. You must buy a new copy of the book that includes the prepaid exam answer sheet.
