    Prerequisite(s): "Computer Basics: Internet" or equivalent experience.

    So many websites and so little time! Come to this theme lab to explore websites and practice new skills. Possible topics include: downloading programs and files from the Internet, online entertainment, other communication opportunities (Skype, Facebook, chat), watching TV online, fun shopping sites to visit, etc. Other topics will be considered based on student interest and skill level.

  2. Computer Basics Theme Lab: Windows Wonders Mobilize Your Media

    Prerequisite(s): "Computer Basics: Windows" or equivalent experience.

    What do iPods, some cell phones, mp3 players, ereaders, external hard drives, data cds, and jump drives all have in common? You can copy files on them from your computer and enjoy them away from home. This 2 session class covers file types and file management before moving on to copying/syncing files to various devices. Demo possibilities include: USB drive, external hard drive, jump drive, iPod, Droid phone, and mp3 player.

    Bring your own USB drive and other devices (and cables) and as time permits we will work with them.

    Prerequisite(s): "Digital Cameras 1" or equivalent experience and proficiency with Windows and file management.

    Improve your shooting techniques by learning how to use histogram analysis, dynamic range, depth of field, and field of view. Discover advanced techniques for sharpening images, correcting digital artifacts and lens distortions, lighting with accessories, managing image files, and manipulating tone and color. You'll also find out if digital SLR cameras are right for you.

    Prerequisite(s): Computer Basics 2: Windows, or equivalent class or experience and web browsing skills. Some HTML knowledge is helpful.

    Create and manage websites with clean and compliant code. Use this powerful web tool to define your site and create basic pages, hyperlinks, images, image maps, tables, and interactive rollovers. You'll convert content from Word documents and use automated Dreamweaver features.

    This class may be taken as an elective for WCC's E-Marketing Certificate. Dreamweaver CS5 is used in class.
