    Learn Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)--meridian tapping--and breath-work to help yourself and your patients restore, promote and support balance. Both EFT and breath-work are non-invasive, complementary interventions that are easy to learn, supported by research and can be applied in minutes. They are accepted by many nationally-known, holistic, physicians and Mind-Body Medicine practitioners.
    Cathy Holland BS, RN is a board member of the Michigan Holistic Nurses Association. She has been studying Mind-Body Medicine for many years and using EFT with success on herself, patients, family and friends since 2002.

    Please arrive 15 minutes early for roll-call and bring your lunch; snacks will be provided throughout the day.

  3. Earth Changes & 2012 Creating Your Garden of Eden Now

    In these times of tremendous change on planet Earth, in the financial market, in our daily lives, in relationships...there is a tendency to become very fearful. The so called "dire" predictions about 2012 and the "end times" are in many peoples' field of awareness. This class will address the nature of Earth changes, the many ways to view and experience them, as well as how the "end times" scenario has developed historically, metaphysically and spiritually. The focus will be on learning how to move out of a fear based relationship to the future and into a more peaceful heart and feeling centered space. Class will be led by Betsy Adams, whose background is in biological sciences, evolutionary ecology, genetics and lifelong intuitive capacities.

  6. Feed Your Face: Natural Skincare from the Kitchen

    Prerequisite(s): You should attend "Acupressure's Lift for Your Face" prior to taking this class.

    Now you can replace your chemical based, mass-produced, facial care products with natural ones you make yourself. Whether you have sensitive skin or not, the knowledge you take home from this class can make a difference in your wallet and on your face. Take home a sample cleanser, toner, and emollient made in class to nourish, hydrate and protect your skin. Esther has multiple years' experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupressure and aromatherapy product development. She is uniquely gifted with the ability to nourish and support the development of each individual she encounters.

    Class will be held in the Culinary Arts Room (Kitchen), 2nd Floor, of the Ellen Thompson Women's Health Center (ETWHC) on the St. Joseph Mercy-Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Campus. Enter the SJMH campus and follow Elliot Drive to the Specialty Centers Area and the ETWHC.

  7. Healthy Habits for Feminine Assets Bringing Breast Health to the Forefront

    Proactive habits like loving thoughts, lymph drainage, and better lifestyle and food choices can make a difference in the health of your breasts. The purpose of this program is to provide participants with an understanding of how to holistically create breast health, instead of chasing a disease process. All who seek preventive health & self-care are encouraged to attend for the benefit of themselves and/or their clients/patients. Content includes discussion about breast development and anatomy; nutritional, lifestyle and bra choices; thermography and much more. With time to practice lymph drainage and thought reframing, you'll leave feeling more empowered about your breasts' health.
    Cathy Holland BS, RN, IBCLC, FACCE, LCCE, part-time faculty, is a holistic women's health nurse, lactation consultant and certified childbirth educator in private practice. She is a proponent of energy work and practices that promote holistic health.

    Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in. Bring a sack lunch, snacks will be provided. To receive a certificate of attendance, participants must attend the entire event and complete an evaluation form.

  10. Mandalas: A Holistic Tool for Harmony and Well-being

    Would you like to find a creative way to express your inner self and enhance your psychological, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being? You can through the ancient art of Mandala. In this experiential workshop with materials supplied, you'll create two Mandalas and explore their personal meanings and symbolism; discover the benefits, meanings, cultural and contemporary healing uses of Mandalas; and learn how to prepare yourself and your surroundings for an intuitive, meditative experience. Holistic nurses, educators, family caregivers, allied health staff and other interested individuals are welcome to attend.

    Melissa Gratzinger, MA, LLPC, is a Nationally Certified Counselor and co-founder of Creative Mind Counseling where she embraces and uses creative techniques with an emphasis on wellness.
