  1. Rape Aggression Defense Training — R.A.D.

Utilizing the R.A.D. student manual, this 4 session course is a combination of discussion and hands on training. Discuss risk reduction strategies, date rape, continuum of survival, defensive strategies, and the basic principles of defense. Learn how to develop a defensive mindset, understand offensive and defensive postures, and recognize vulnerable locations. In the hands on sections, learn techniques based on gross motor skills with the intent that they become instinctive through repetition.

Students will have the opportunity to use these techniques first in dynamic impact training by striking padded equipment held by the instructors. All techniques target a single attacker. Also learn ground defense techniques and refine the skills previously learned with "practice, practice and practice".
