1. Basic Machine Sewing Sew It Yourself

   "Sew" you always wanted to learn to sew, make your own clothes, make your own home decor items, or alter or mend your clothes? Learn how to operate a sewing machine, select fabric and patterns, take measurements, cut fabric, and read sewing instructions. Flex your creative muscles and learn a skill that will last a lifetime.

   You must bring a sewing machine, sewing sheers, pins and a pincushion, a quilter's chalk pencil, a measuring tape, and a seam ripper. It's also recommended that you bring a 6" gage and small sewing scissors.

3. Close It Up Right on the Button

   Prerequisite(s): "Basic Machine Sewing" or equivalent experience.

   Button down, baby! Learn to make standard machine buttonholes and bound buttonholes to secure your fabulous garment. Cover your buttons with fabric to enhance the unique look of your creation. Find out the secret to sewing on a button-both hand and machine methods-so that they're easy to button and don't fall off. Going beyond the button, you'll discover other types of closures-hook and eye, snaps, tooled snaps-what they're used for, and how to sew them to your clothing.

   You must bring to class a sewing machine, scrap woven fabric, scissors, thread, pins, and hand-stitching needles.
