Prerequisite(s): Before entering the lab you must show the instructor your college transcript or proof of licensure, certification, or completion of a program in massage therapy, nursing, occupational therapy, occupational therapy assistant, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, or a similar health care program that required anatomy. Dysrhythmias Interpretation and Management
Prerequisite(s): You must be a registered nurse, RN student, or other health care professional with direct care of cardiac patients or have taken "ECG Interpretation."
In two evenings, jump into atrial and junctional dysrhythmias and four types of arteriovenous (AV) blocks: premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), V-tach, Torsade, and V-fib. In addition, dive into idioventricular/agonal arrhythmias, ventricular standstill, and pulseless electrical activity. You'll practice interpreting strips, review cases, and determine nursing actions for each.

ECG Interpretation Mastering Basic Concepts
This class gives health care staff from many specialties the foundation for interpreting electrocardiograms. After reviewing cardiac anatomy and electrophysiology, you'll be able to describe the P, QRS, and T components of the cardiac cycle; identify the body landmarks for electrode lead placement; and differentiate among strips showing normal rhythm, bradycardia, tachycardia, sinus arrhythmia, and arrest.

IV Therapy Initiation Techniques, Guidelines & Nursing Responsibilities
Prerequisite(s): You should be a registered nurse, an RN student, an emergency medical technician, or another medical professional who starts IVs.
Review or learn new IV start techniques, guidelines, and nursing responsibilities. The class covers site and device selection, patient preparation, proper stabilization techniques, dressing choices, and procedure documentation. After practicing on simulated arms, students will establish IV lines on each other. The curriculum is based on the current Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Intravascular Guidelines.

Medical Transcription: Part 1 Online Make a Career Change!
Prerequisite(s): High school diploma or equivalent, good typing skills (at least 30 wpm recommended), and an understanding of spoken and written English, including grammar and punctuation.

This online career training program by Career Step is self-paced and features 800 actual sound files to practice transcription. Most transcriptionists work from the flexibility of home! In addition a PC transcription foot pedal is included, and texts are provided electronically. Part 1 has 16 modules that combine knowledge with hands-on training.
