Washtenaw Community College wants community members and it employees to take full advantage of the variety of classes offered by LifeLong Learning. WCC pays tuition for Washtenaw County residents who are 65 or over and for college employees and their dependents.
- Residents of Washtenaw County Who Are 65 or Over
If you live in Washtenaw County and are 65 or over before the semester begins, WCC pays your tuition. You must, however, pay any fees.
Before you register for classes, you must visit the Student Connection on the second floor of WCC’s Student Center to establish your status as a Washtenaw County resident who is 65 or over. Bring proof of your age and residency, and you’ll be given a WCC ID.
Once you have your WCC ID, simply register like anyone else. On the Order Review step of the checkout process, you’ll see a College-paid Tuition box. Enter either your WCC ID number or, if you prefer, your Social Security number and date of birth if you provided them when you got your WCC ID.
- Vouchers
In rare cases, LifeLong Learning issues vouchers. If you received one, register normally and when you reach Order Review you’ll see a voucher box below your cart summary. Enter your voucher code, which is a string of 10 numbers and letters, click Apply, and the cart summary will reflect your voucher. If LifeLong Learning has not issued you a voucher, you’re not eligible for one.
- WCC Full-time Employees
Full-time WCC employees must log in using their WCC-issued email address and password. The college pays your tuition, although you must pay any fees. Your college-paid tuition will be automatically reflected in the Order Review step of the checkout process.
- WCC Part-time Employees
Part-time employees at WCC must log in using their WCC-issued email address and password. The college will pay for the equivalent of three credit hours of tuition, although you must pay any fees. If you’re a part-time employee, you must see Human Resources to receive this benefit.
- WCC Employee Dependents
The college pays your tuition if you’re a dependent of a WCC employee, although you must pay any fees. If you have a WCC-issued email address and password, you’re encouraged to use these to log in to your account. If you do, your college-paid tuition will be automatically reflected on the Order Review step of the checkout process. If you log in using a non-WCC email address, you’ll have to enter your Social Security number and date of birth every time you make a purchase.
Once your dependent status is established, you can log in using an account you create with your personal email address. Go through the registration process, and when you reach the Order Review step you’ll see a College-paid Tuition box. Enter your WCC ID or Social Security number as well as your date of birth, click Apply, and the college-paid tuition will be reflected in your cart summary.
