If you’re a nurse, a variety of classes can help you upgrade your skills, and those that list contact hours fulfill the Michigan board administrative rules as acceptable for license renewal. Under the Michigan Public Health Code and board administrative rules, all nurses licensed in Michigan must complete at least 25 hours of continuing education during the two years before they apply for license renewal. At least one contact hour must be in pain and pain symptom management.
