Code Officials
Public Acts 54 and 207 Continuing Education Credits
WCC offers two types of classes designed for code officials: public classes and classes that are only open to members of the Huron Valley Association of Code Officials. All of the public classes are described on this webpage.
HuVACO partners with WCC to offer eight monthly code training classes annually for HuVACO members. More classes are offered at the two-day Expo held each January. Recognized industry leaders and instructors teach the classes. HuVACO membership costs $85.
Both types of classes are submitted to the Bureau of Construction Codes and the Bureau of Fire Services for consideration under PA 54 and PA 207. Please check the list of monthly HuVACO classes for approvals applicable to building officials, certified fire inspectors, building inspectors, and plan reviewers. In addition, many classes are also approved by the American Institute of Architects for Health, Safety, and Welfare credit. Attendance rosters are mailed to the Bureau at the end of each class.
