  6. Drama Therapy Games for Social Workers Creative Ways to Work with Groups

    Get creative and open up new avenues for reaching and helping groups. Drama therapy adapts games and techniques from the world of theater and improvisation and applies them to social work practice. These games can be used to promote group bonding and interaction, trust, emotional expression, stress reduction/relaxation, physical activation, communication, self-esteem, observation, and concentration. Drama therapy games are a fun, active, and engaging way to work with groups of adults and children or families. Many of the exercises can also be adapted for use with individuals.

  9. The Depressed & Suicidal Client Risk Assessment & Treatment

    Examine a variety of aspects of depression and suicide and ways to help your clients. Look at your current definition of suicide and what it means to how you currently conduct your practice. Learn ways to more accurately analyze the risks of suicide by your depressed client and identify the most lethal signs in the suicidal person. Understand methods that will help determine if a person needs to be hospitalized and the benefits of avoiding hospitalizing the depressed clients who don't need it. Learn how to work with others to get help and how and when to do relapse prevention.
