  1. Financial Survival Tips from the Budget Guru

    Wouldn't it be a relief to get out of debt and have a credit score that you're proud of? These topics challenge many people and yet are so essential to your overall financial well being. In this workshop you will learn how to develop a plan for spending, bill-paying and saving, so that as income comes in you will know what money you can spend and enjoy, what must go for bills and what to savings, short and long term! We will discuss ways to control spending and how to reduce dependency on credit cards. Our accredited financial counselor will guide you step by step through strategies for reducing your debt to save time and interest, while improving your credit score. You'll do budget analysis, and then develop a plan for day-to-day financial decisions. Learn how to fit long and short term savings into a tight budget. You will learn the ins and outs of creditworthiness and how to improve your credit score.

    We are often encouraged to "eat right." What does this really mean? How do you know who to trust when confronted with the latest fad diet and nutrition information? It may not be as difficult or complicated as it often seems. Learn what is included in a nutritionally adequate diet, as well as strategies to make successful changes to improve your diet and meet your weight and health goals. Bring your diet questions and ideas for an interactive and lively discussion with your instructor and classmates.

This class qualifies for 0.70 Continuing Education Units approved by the State of Michigan Board of Education. You'll also explore the physical and mental requirements of riding, different ways to learn to ride, and how to get licensed. You'll sit on several types of motorcycles to see how different bikes fit you.

    Join instructors, students, and like-minded individuals to celebrate this world event. Observe demonstrations of Tai Chi and Qi-Gong by local practitioners. Talk with them and find out more about their work. You will learn techniques that are simple and easy for all ages and levels of fitness and may be effective for stress management, relaxation, energy regulation, pain relief, and self development.
