WCC Students Seek Haiti Relief Donations
Editor's Note: The African American Humanities Club has extended its fundraising drive to support Haiti disaster relief efforts through Thursday, Feb. 4. Members will have tables Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00am-3:00pm on the first floor of the Student Center building next to the bookstore, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-3:00 on the second floor of the Crane Liberal Arts and Science building next to the bridge that connects it to the Gunder Myran building.
WCC students are doing their part to raise money to help people in the devastated nation of Haiti.
The African American Humanities Club, with the support of Student Activities, is sponsoring a fundraising drive to support Haiti disaster relief efforts. Students are collecting money to purchase basic family water kits, medicine and medical supplies, and food such as therapeutic milk and high-energy protein biscuits. A table for donations will be set up on the first floor of the Student Center building next to the bookstore. On Sunday, Feb. 28, the International Student Center will host a benefit titled “Helping Haiti” in the Morris Lawrence building at 4:30pm. Proceeds from the event will go to UNICEF and Save the Children. Performances by students from over a dozen countries will be featured, and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
