New Bus Agreement Reached by WCC, AATA
WCC and the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority will extend a special program for bus travel departing from the College’s main campus through the Fall Semester. To participate, students and employees must have a new WCC ID card, which is free.
Starting Monday, May 10, riders will swipe their new WCC IDs through the bus fare box instead of using a traditional pass when boarding on campus outside the Occupational Education building. Under the new agreement, trips from campus will be free but riders will have to pay for trips to WCC.
“Finding a parking spot at WCC can be a challenge,” said Michael Ford, AATA chief executive officer. “The WCC administration has been looking for ways to ease the pressure on parking at certain times of the day. WCC wanted to maintain its commitment to supporting alternative transportation options for students and staff despite a tightening budget. We believe the new agreement accomplishes that.”
Winter Semester bus passes currently in use by WCC students and employees will remain valid through Monday, May 3.
