Renowned Photographer to Speak at WCC April 2
Portrait photographer Gregory Heisler, who has shot more than 70 covers for Time magazine, will speak about his craft April 2 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in room 101 of WCC’s Morris Lawrence building. The Canon Explorers of Light program is sponsoring his talk, which is free and open to the public.
Heisler has photographed leaders in business, government, science, sports, and the arts. Some of his subjects have included George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, Neil Armstrong, Bill and Melinda Gates, Al Pacino, Bode Miller, and Bono.
“Canon asked us to make a wish list of guest lecturers and Greg Heisler was at the top of that list,” said Instructor Jennifer Baker, who is coordinating the event. “We’re absolutely thrilled that he was able to make time in his schedule to come to Ann Arbor and discuss his work with our students and the community.”
Other publications where Heisler’s portraits have appeared include Sports Illustrated, Life, Esquire, and The New York Times Magazine. He has received the Alfred Eisenstadt Award and the Leica Medal of Excellence. More information about Heisler’s work is available at Heisler's website.
