WCC Trustees Select McLean to Fill Board Vacancy

  • Patrick A. McLean has been appointed to WCC’s Board of Trustees.

The WCC Board of Trustees has selected Toledo City Finance Director Patrick A. McLean to serve the two years of newly elected state Rep. David Rutledge’s unexpired term on the board. McLean’s appointment began Jan. 11 and will expire Dec. 31, 2012, following the next general election.

McLean has been responsible for all aspects of city finance for Toledo since January 2010. Before that he served as associate vice chancellor for affordability and efficiency with the Ohio Board of Regents (2008-2010), chief financial officer for the Ohio Attorney General’s office (2007-2008), and chief of staff for the Ohio Senate Minority Caucus (2000-2003).

Locally, McLean spent three years as executive director of the Washtenaw Area Council for Children (2004-2007) and served as a nonprofit and political consultant. He was also a commissioner with the Ypsilanti Housing Commission (2006-2010).

He received his master’s in political science from Miami University and bachelor’s in political science from the University of Dayton. He also has taught as an adjunct professor at Monroe County Community College in Michigan, New York University, and Wilmington College in Ohio. He resides in Ypsilanti.
