WCC Opens New Ceramics Facilities to the Public April 4

Washtenaw Community College has a brand new, state-of-the-art ceramics studio and we welcome the public to tour the facilities at an open house Saturday, April 4 from 1:00pm–4:00pm The studio is in room 135 in the Technical and Industrial Building. Light refreshments will be served.

The open house will include the following events:

  • Throwing demonstrations
  • Discussions about student work
  • Facility tours
  • Exhibitions of completed works and works in progress

“The new ceramics facilities at WCC are the best that money can buy. There is nothing that rivals them in the region,” says I. B. Remsen, WCC ceramics instructor.  “For those interested in ceramics this is an opportunity to see what we can offer.”

The new studio has 20 pottery wheels, gas and electric kilns, giant spray booth for the over 40 different glazes, and environmentally friendly controls in the studio.
