WCC Students, Staff Encouraged to Park at Rynearson
Parking on WCC’s campus the first month or so of Fall Semester can be challenging. To make sure that students and staff make it to class and to the office on time, WCC encourages students, faculty, and staff to park at Eastern Michigan University’s Rynearson lot on Hewitt Road just east of campus. The Rynearson lot, which is located across from EMU’s football stadium, is only minutes away from WCC.
A free shuttle will transport riders to and from the Rynearson lot and the Student Center building every 15 minutes from 6:45am until 6:15pm Monday through Thursday. The shuttle does not operate on Fridays. The service begins Monday, Aug. 29, and ends Thursday, Nov. 3.
Some EMU students also will be parking at Rynearson this fall and taking Ann Arbor Transportation Authority buses to Eastern’s central campus. The WCC shuttle buses, which are not operated by the AATA, will be clearly marked to avoid any confusion.
Another way to avoid parking problems is to ride AATA buses from your home or workplace to WCC. As in previous semesters, WCC will offer free bus rides from campus to students and employees who have WCC photo ID cards. To use the service, students and employees must swipe their WCC photo ID cards through the farebox when they board the bus at the main campus bus stop in front of the Occupational Education building. Students and employees must pay for bus rides to campus.
WCC’s parking crunch will be solved by the start of Winter Semester in January, when the new parking structure is scheduled to open.
