MLK Day Activities Take Place at WCC Jan. 17

Although WCC will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, it will sponsor several activities the next day to honor the late civil rights leader.

On Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 11:30am the College will unveil a plaque honoring Dr. King on the first floor of the Student Center building.

Also on Tuesday, students will be encouraged to sign a peace pledge, educate themselves about Dr. King, and share personal stories about how he inspired them. The WCC Bailey Library has a list of resources available for people interested in learning more about Dr. King and his work.

In addition, the Student Development and Activities department has decorated a three-panel memorial wall at the north, first floor entrance of the Student Center building that highlights ways for students to take part in a day of service.
