WCC Volunteer Fair Set for Feb. 21

WCC is helping area nonprofits increase their number of community volunteers. On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the WCC Student Development and Activities department will host a Volunteer Fair from 11:00am to 1:00pm on the second floor of the Student Center building. The event is free and open to the public.

“In this market, employers look for job applicants who stand out from the pile,” said Rachel Barsch, who is coordinating the event. “Volunteering for an organization that supports your community is a great way of separating yourself from others. It also leaves you with a wonderful feeling knowing that you’re doing something to help others.”

The agencies participating in the WCC Volunteer Fair include:

  • American Cancer Society
  • American Red Cross, Washtenaw-Lenawee Chapter
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washtenaw County
  • Brookdale Place Ann Arbor
  • Catholic Social Services
  • Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan
  • Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley
  • HIV/AIDS Resource Center
  • Hoarding Task Force of Washtenaw County
  • Hope Clinic
  • Humane Society of Huron Valley
