Advanced Manufacturing Careers Highlighted at March 26 Event
Manufacturing is regaining its foothold in Michigan, and it needs skilled technicians to make it strong. To help build awareness for this growing employment field, WCC is hosting a special event on Monday, March 26, from 11:00am to 1:30pm in the Morris Lawrence building.
The event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided for the first 30 people to register.
Organizers will shine a bright spotlight on advanced manufacturing careers. Sometimes referred to as automation technology, these jobs feature:
- fluid power
- industrial electronics
- machine tool
- numerical control
Faculty and industry professionals will be on hand to answer questions about the jobs and the training required for them. Live demonstrations will provide a greater understanding of the technical skills required in today’s manufacturing sector.
The event is part of an ongoing series of career showcases called the Highway to High Demand Jobs. It’s sponsored by the WCC Student Resource and Women’s Center and the Employment Services Center.
