WCC Talent Showcased at Ypsilanti Heritage Festival
WCC music and performing arts students will lend their talents to each day of the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival, which runs Aug. 17-19 at Riverside Park. All of the WCC performances are free and will take place at the Gazebo Stage near the Huron River.
The College’s popular Top 40 Combo, directed by John E. Lawrence, will enliven the festival when it performs Saturday, Aug. 18, at 4:00pm.
WCC performing arts students, with instructors Gayle Martin and Noonie Anderson, will present a wide variety of dance styles. They’ll perform on Friday, Aug. 17, at 1:30pm and on Sunday, Aug. 19, at 11:30am.
Students and alumni have choreographed many of the dances. Many talented dancers will perform, including the groups Patchwerk, The Factory, Gem, and Dance 4 Unity belly dancers.
