Register Now to Get the Classes You Want

WCC Winter Classes Start Soon

Time is running out to register for Winter Semester 2013 at WCC. Classes start Jan. 14.

If you’re a current student, you can register online any time you like. If you’re a new student, you must submit an online application and be admitted before you can register.

WCC’s new class schedule is easy to navigate. You can search it using keywords such as a subject, class name, instructor name, class number, or CRN. Other tools let you find classes by subject, location, time of day, days of the week, and type of class (traditional, blended, or online).

WCC Classes Fit Busy Schedules

WCC offers classes during the day, at night, on weekends, online, and in a blended format that combines online and classroom instruction. Classes are available at WCC’s main campus and at extension centers in Brighton, Dexter, Hartland, and Ypsilanti.

WCC also will offer classes at five high schools in addition to the existing extension sites at Brighton and Dexter. Now it’s easier than ever for high school students to participate in WCC’s dual enrollment program, which lets them take college classes while they’re still in school.

Students can take WCC classes at the following high schools:

  • Chelsea High School
  • Hartland High School
  • Manchester High School
  • Milan High School
  • Whitmore Lake High School

In many cases, school districts will pay the tuition for their students who take WCC classes.

Online Tools Make Registration Easier

Students have several online tools to help them build their schedules through MyWCC, the system they use to register for classes:

  • The WCC Schedule Planner lets students type in classes they want and block out times they’re unavailable, and then produces possible class schedules.
  • The Program Requirements and Degree Audit allows students to see which classes they still must take to earn a degree.
  • The Course Prerequisite Check lets students check prerequisites and, if they feel that they meet them, apply for a prerequisite override online.

Need Help With Registering?

Students register for credit classes online. If you need access to a computer or help with registering, visit WCC’s Student Connection on the second floor of the Student Center building.

You also can get help by calling the Student Connection at 734-973-3543 or sending an email to studrec@wccnet.edu. The office is normally open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Help in choosing classes is available at Counseling & Career Planning, where walk-in counseling is available Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The office is located on the second floor of the Student Center building.

You can submit basic advising questions through the Internet and receive replies by email or phone. If you need more help and it’s hard to get to campus, you can use WCC’s real-time online advising service. Your computer needs a high-speed Internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone for you to take full advantage of the service.
