Winter enrollment ranks among best

On the Record

Washtenaw Community College’s year-over-year enrollment continues to rank amongst the best for reporting community colleges in Michigan, according to data as recent as Jan. 22.

“We have beat the budget parameters that we have set in place,” said Dr. Evan Montague, WCC’s associate vice president of recruitment and student enrollment. “We continue to see significant increases in our online class enrollment, and WCC will expand its offerings to meet the student demand.” In fact, online enrollment increased 12.3 percent over last year at this time.

WCC has put a number of initiatives in place in order to offer an easily accessible education for students. The college offers flexible scheduling, with classes available on nights or weekends or starting later in the semester. Online and blended classes, which are held both online and in a classroom, provide options for students to fit classes into their busy schedules.

And the college offers a wide variety of degree and certificate programs that can be earned entirely online including management, supply chain operations, computer software applications, programming in Java and many more.
