WCC recognized for promoting exercise on campus

Washtenaw Community College has received silver-level recognition for its newly launched Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) program. EIM-OC is a national campaign led by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) that calls upon colleges and universities to promote physical activity to faculty, staff and students.

Achieving gold-level recognition is now the goal of the team assembled to lead the college’s EIM-OC efforts.

Seminar at WCC Focuses on Helping Area Businesses Grow

“Helping Employers Thrive & Grow,” a seminar aimed at connecting employers with local support services and resources that can help them in a tough economy, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Towsley Auditorium in Washtenaw Community College’s Morris Lawrence building. There’s no charge for the seminar, which runs from 8:00am to 1:00pm, but employers are asked to register by Feb. 12.

WCC Hosts Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Reads with Author Timothy Ferris

Timothy Ferris, the author of “Seeing in the Dark: How Amateur Astronomers are Discovering the Wonders of the Universe,” will discuss his book Thursday, Jan. 29, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in Towsley Auditorium, which is located in the Morris Lawrence building at Washtenaw Community College. His talk is part of the sixth annual Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Reads program.
