WCC receives donation of 2018 Murano from Nissan Technical Center North America

The Nissan Technical Center North America’s (NTCNA) donation of a 2018 Nissan Murano is being called a “turning point” for the Auto Service programs at Washtenaw Community College.

WCC President Dr. Rose B. Bellanca and Dean of Advanced Technologies & Public Service Careers Brandon Tucker were on hand to receive the donation on Tuesday afternoon from representatives of the NTCNA, which employs 1,200 people in Farmington Hills.

WCC, Michigan Medicine launch Service Desk Apprenticeship Progam

Apprenticeships are typically associated with the skilled trades. You might first think of a plumber or electrician apprentice? Or maybe a welder or carpenter?

That convention is changing and a recent apprenticeship program created by Washtenaw Community College to help Michigan Medicine attract and train aspiring information technology professionals is advancing the cause.

WCC cuts ribbon on nursing labs, celebrates Center of Excellence distinction

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder was among the dignitaries that helped Washtenaw Community College celebrate its national Center of Excellence in Nursing Education designation and cut the ribbon on its new nursing simulation laboratories at a special ceremony held Thursday evening.

“The impact that the School of Nursing has on the community it serves is extraordinary,” Snyder said.

WCC Board of Trustees approves college law enforcement agency

ANN ARBOR, MICH., September 19, 2017 – The Washtenaw Community College Board of Trustees has approved a resolution establishing a law enforcement agency for the college. The resolution established a public safety advisory committee and granted law enforcement authority to WCC campus resource officers.

Ann Arbor mayor honors WCC during Community College Month

As part of the celebration of National Community College Month in April, the Mayor of Ann Arbor, Mich., Christopher Taylor, issued a proclamation urging all citizens to recognize and appreciate the outstanding contributions Washtenaw Community College makes to the community.
