WCC to rename building in honor of retiring VP Damon Flowers

In what may be the most ardently supported decision it has made, the Washtenaw Community College Board of Trustees on Tuesday unanimously approved the renaming of the college's Plant Operations Building to the Damon B. Flowers Building in honor of the retiring Vice President of Operations and Facilities.

The trustees approved the name-change resolution after tabling the discussion during its October and November meetings.

WCC joins nationwide '15 to Finish' graduation campaign

Washtenaw Community College wants students to graduate on time and save money while doing so.

The college is joining the “15 to Finish” initiative, a nationwide campaign encouraging students to maximize credit loads to graduate sooner and spend less money on the undergraduate college experience.

WCC, sprinkler fitter union extend apprenticeship training contract

Washtenaw Community College and the Sprinkler Fitters of UA Local Union 669 signed a five-year contract extension on Wednesday, November 8, to continue the college’s involvement in providing the educational component of the union’s apprenticeship program. The agreement extends the contract through December 2022.
