WCC Offers Opportunities to Study Abroad

Starting this summer, WCC will offer students opportunities to study in more than a dozen foreign countries. The effort is a partnership between WCC and AHA International, an academic program of the University of Oregon.

Renowned Photographer to Speak at WCC April 2

Portrait photographer Gregory Heisler, who has shot more than 70 covers for Time magazine, will speak about his craft April 2 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in room 101 of WCC’s Morris Lawrence building. The Canon Explorers of Light program is sponsoring his talk, which is free and open to the public.

Regional Science Fair Returns to WCC March 14

The best scientific minds of a new generation will be on display at the Southeast Michigan Science Fair March 14 from noon to 4:00pm at WCC’s Morris Lawrence building. The fair, which is open to the public, will provide a fascinating array of experiments, models, collections, and other exhibits created by middle school and high school students.

Hundreds of Washtenaw County adults will get help preparing for high-demand jobs under a grant awarded to a group that includes WCC.

WCC will present two job fairs and two pre-fair seminars in March and April that are open to WCC students, alumni, and the public. All of the events are free.

Registration for Spring/Summer 2009 Semester Starts March 18

Registration for WCC’s Spring/Summer Semester starts Wednesday, March 18, for current and readmitted students. Registration for new students starts one week later on Wednesday, March 25.

Learn About Transfer Opportunities March 4

WCC students who want to transfer to a four-year college or university can meet with representatives from more than 30 institutions at the 14th Annual Transfer Fair on Wednesday, March 4.

WCC Hosts Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Reads with Author Timothy Ferris

Timothy Ferris, the author of “Seeing in the Dark: How Amateur Astronomers are Discovering the Wonders of the Universe,” will discuss his book Thursday, Jan. 29, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in Towsley Auditorium, which is located in the Morris Lawrence building at Washtenaw Community College. His talk is part of the sixth annual Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Reads program.
