WCC/UM Collaborate On Grant Program For Jordanian College

Entrepreneurs occupy a central position in our economy as key contributors to technological innovation and new job growth. WCC and the University of Michigan William Davidson Institute (WDI) are helping to build entrepreneurial know-how among students at Jordan’s Al-Quds College thanks to a grant from Higher Education Development (HED).

President Bellanca Joins National Forum to Promote Entrepreneurship

President Rose Bellanca has joined the new Presidents for Entrepreneurship Forum sponsored by National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE). Through the program, presidents of community colleges throughout the country commit to increase the focus on entrepreneurship at their institutions and the impact their colleges have on the economic well being of the communities they serve.

WCC Welcomes UA Instructors Aug. 12-17

WCC is busy preparing for the 59th annual United Association Instructor Training Program (ITP). This year marks the 23rd consecutive year that more than 1,200 UA plumbing, pipe and sprinkler fitting, welding, and HVAC service techs from across North America have converged on campus for a week of intensive instruction.

WCC Introduces New Supply Chain Management Programs

In the Winter 2012 semester, WCC launched a new associate degree in supply chain management. This fall, the College adds a new certificate program in supply chain operations. While these programs are new to WCC, the jobs associated with them are part of a decades-old profession.

Summer Job Pays Off For Two WCC Students

Last summer it was all about the work for two talented WCC welders. Brandon Woodman and Alex Pazkowski, students in the WCC welding program, were hired by Triune Manufacturing Company in Madison Heights, Mich., to help fabricate an educational experience on wheels.

Advanced Manufacturing Careers Highlighted at March 26 Event

Manufacturing is regaining its foothold in Michigan, and it needs skilled technicians to make it strong. To help build awareness for this growing employment field, WCC is hosting a special event on Monday, March 26, from 11:00am to 1:30pm in the Morris Lawrence building.

WCC Hosts Job Fair March 20

WCC hopes to make finding a job a little easier for students and community members when it hosts the 15th Annual Spring Job Fair and Nonprofit Showcase on Tuesday, March 20, from noon to 4:00pm in the Morris Lawrence building. The event is free and open to the public.
