WCC student heads to Washington, D.C.

When former U.S. Marine and WCC student Leland Dawson served in Japan and Iraq, he carried out military policies handed down from Congress and the White House. This summer, he will gain insight into how those and other policies are shaped when he interns for the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, U.S. Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan.

WCC freezes tuition

WCC students who register early for Fall Semester will be able to lock in current tuition rates. The WCC Board of Trustees unanimously approved the tuition freeze at its meeting March 26.

Abernethy Named WCC Interim Vice President for Instruction

WCC has named Dean of Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences Dr. William Abernethy as Interim Vice President for Instruction. The appointment is effective immediately.

Annessa Carlisle Named WCC Marketing Executive Director

Annessa L. Carlisle has been named executive director of Public Relations and Marketing at WCC. She will oversee all marketing and public relations efforts at the College, and assist campus executives with strategic initiatives. Her assignment began in June.

WCC’s new associate vice president for economic development and community and corporate alliances is an experienced educator, administrator, and business collaborator.

GI Jobs magazine included WCC on its list of the most military friendly institutions for 2012. One reason for that distinction is that the College allows military personnel who are called to active service the opportunity to return without penalty.
