WCC offers many certificate and degree programs for careers that are in high demand for 2013.
Talent investment will be a key competitive advantage for small business owners and corporate America in 2013, said Michelle Mueller, associate vice president for economic and community development at WCC. Recently, Mueller discussed workforce training with area executives who feel that recruiting and retaining skilled employees are critical in positioning their businesses for success.
Time is running out to register for Winter Semester 2013 at WCC. Classes start Jan. 14.
Current WCC students will have just a one-day edge over new students during class registration for Winter Semester 2013.
WCC President Rose B. Bellanca recently shared her vision for the College and the community with Donna Doleman, vice president of marketing communications and talent at Ann Arbor SPARK, in a podcast that’s available online.
WCC has been named Educational Institution of the Year by the American Welding Society and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee. The honor is one of their 2012 Image of Welding awards.
A $2.9 million grant WCC received is the kind of investment that will drive the nation forward, said Jay Williams, executive director of the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers. He made the comment to area business leaders during a visit to WCC Oct. 1. The grant is from the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Initiative.
WCC has been awarded a $2.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor through its Trade Adjustment Assistance for Community Colleges Career Training program. The grant will fund an initiative to develop new information technology employees in Michigan.
