WCC Culinary Grad is a Lion of a Chef
Joe Nader, 39, stands over an empty Ford Field wearing his chef’s coat and a toque, or chef’s hat. It’s quiet now, but once his day gets going he’ll oversee the work of about 100 employees. And during football season, an average of nearly 50,000 people per game will look to him for tasty and interesting food.
Summertime is Outdoor Time at WCC
Summertime is one of the best times to enjoy the WCC campus, and you don’t have to be a student to participate in a number of fun activities.
Springtime Means Game Time for WCC Athletes
“Batterrrrr UP!” That undeniable cry of summer, absent from the grounds of WCC since 2006, returns to campus this spring when a restored and expanded fresh air sports venue opens for students.
WCC Offers Wide Range of Student Activities
For some WCC students, Welcome Day in September is their first introduction to life on campus. Usually held shortly after classes begin, Welcome Day showcases a host of activities on campus that are open to everyone. A Welcome Day for Winter Semester will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Foundation Looks Within for Support
Last winter, for the first time the WCC Foundation couldn’t offer scholarships to all qualified WCC students who applied. Over 500 WCC students depend on Foundation scholarships to continue their education each semester. Times are tough for a lot of people, but many WCC faculty and staff realize how lucky they are to have jobs here and give to students who need a little help. They are some of the most generous supporters of the Foundation. Last year, 127 WCC employees gave money to the Foundation.
