Sending and Receiving Mail
If you have more than 10 messages and want to see the rest, scroll to the bottom and click Get More Messages To read a message, click Read. To delete a message, click Delete. To write a new message, click New Message. While you are reading a message, you may reply to the person who sent you the message by clicking Reply. You may delete the message by clicking delete. You may return to the listing of your messages by clicking Back. When you are writing a message, enter the e-mail address of the person you are writing to in the To: field. You need to put in the person's full email address, such as ocsirf@example.com, not just a person's name. Your email address, which other people can use to reach you, is your_login_id@stu.wccnet.edu. You can also enter a subject that the email is about in the Subject field. Enter the message you are sending in the large text box. When you are done writing your message, click the send button. If you are having problems, check the Common Problems section. Security Issues If you are at all concerned about the privacy of your mail, be sure to read the following very carefully. Once you are done reading and sending email, be sure to quit the web browser. If you do not do this, then other people may be able to read your email and possibly send mail using your account. Be wary of using Netscape or Internet Explorer's built in mail readers to read your mail. You should not configure a computer in an open lab to view your mail. Doing so may save your mail to the computer and remove it from the server. It is only reccomended that you read your mail using these web pages. Protect your password! Keep your password to yourself. Wisely choose your password. Change your password often. | |||||||
