Affirmative Action

Covering: Affirmative Action

The Affirmative Action and Diversity Project
This Web site takes a broad view of affirmative action; "it is designed to help lend many different voices to the debates surrounding the issues rather than taking a singular pro or con position." The site contains links to resources having to do with the culture, economics, gender, quotas, race, alternatives of affirmative action and much more.

American Association for Affirmative Action
This is the Web site for those managing affirmative action, diversity, equal opportunity and similar programs. Aside from information particular to its members, the Web site has a "Resources" page which contains links to federal laws and regulations, federal enforcement agencies, courts and legal opinions, civil rights organizations and more.

Center for Equal Opportunity
Focusing on "racial preferences, immigration and assimilation and multicultural education," this think tank is "devoted exclusively to the promotion of colorblind equal opportunity and racial harmony." Click on the "Issues" button to get to the Affirmative Action page where there are links to a wide variety of resources on the topic having both a state and national perspective.

Civil Rights.Org
Funded by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights and the Conference's Education Fund, this Web site seeks "to serve as the site of record for relevant and up-to-the minute civil rights news and information." Click on the "Issues" button and choose the "Affirmative Action" link for op-ed pieces, news briefs, speeches, reports, court decisions, and much more.

Michigan Department of Civil Rights
MDCR is an administrative agency with investigative and enforcement authority. The Enforcement Process is defined as all of the tasks performed when a customer interacts with the department regarding a civil rights related need or concern, including investigation and resolution of complaints of discrimination, outreach and education programs, community relations, and contract compliance.

U.S. Commission on Civil Rights
Scroll down for a link to the Commission's link to Affirmative Action information. Resources include press releases, statements and reports on the subject from 1977-2003.
