Student Services Offered at WCC
WCC offers a number of places where students can get academic advising and counseling, depending upon a student's need or situation.
Career Services provides help with part-time and full-time job placement, as well as Cooperative Education (Co-op) and Academic Service Learning placement. They offer resume help as well as employment-related events, such as a job fair and workshops.
Students far from home do not need to travel far at WCC for help. International Student Services can help make your transition to the Washtenaw Community College campus as smooth as possible. They offer one-on-one counseling as well as academic and immigration advising for students from around the world. International students with F-1 visas may be admitted if they meet certain requirements. WCC is authorized by federal law to admit non-immigrant students.
Activities through the Office of Student Development and Activities are designed to give students opportunities to try something new, meet other classmates, and expand their interests--all at an affordable cost. Students are encouraged to participate in these cultural, social, and recreational activities as a means to acquire a well-rounded education at WCC and to have fun!
Learning Support Services provides services for students with disabilities including academic advising, accommodations, auxiliary aids and specialized computer software. Services are also available for students who are economically or academically disadvantaged or who have limited English-speaking proficiency. Tutoring is provided for all students in credit classes.
Student Resource and Women's Center provides comprehensive support services, mentoring programs, networking opportunities, workshops, cultural events, financial assistance and services that relate specifically to women. The Center advocates on behalf of students helping them overcome barriers that impede their success and promoting an educational environment that values diversity, inclusiveness and equality.
WCC provides many different resources on campus that are designed to help students achieve academic success. Whether you need help solving math problems, writing a paper, or doing research, you can get the assistance you need at WCC.
The Testing Center provides the highest quality testing services for faculty, students, and guests. The Center is designed to make test taking more convenient and less stressful for students. General Education Development (GED) testing is available.
WCC students interested in continuing their education at a four-year university should consult Transfer Resources for college transfer guides, course for course equivalencies, college campus visits and more. WCC can be your first step towards a bachelor's or master's degree.
WCC students can request a transfer of credit from other colleges.
