Timely Warning Notice

In the event that a situation arises either on or off campus that, in the judgment of the President of the College, members of the WCC Crisis Management Team, or Campus Safety and Security personnel, constitutes an ongoing or continuing threat, a campus-wide timely warning will be issued. Decisions to make timely warnings will be made on a case-by-case basis in light of all the facts surrounding a crime or other emergency situation. A warning will be issued to faculty, staff, and students via the WCC Emergency Notification System, which includes emails as well as text messages and phone calls (if opted in). Students and employees can sign up for the free WCC Alert Emergency Notification Service by visiting MyWCC and selecting WCC Alert from the menu. If deemed necessary, a warning also will be communicated through the building speaker system broadcasts, WCC’s homepage, and TV monitors located throughout campus.

It is the priority of Washtenaw Community College to promptly alert the College community of potentially dangerous situations so that they have both the time and information to take appropriate precautions.
