eDISCOVER - We now can offer our students the opportunity to use DISCOVER 24/7! DISCOVER is a career guidance system that allows users to take an inventory to assess interests, abilities and values; learn about occupations and search for occupations that may be right for you; learn about college majors, search for a major and determine occupations based on a college major; learn about vocational schools, colleges and universities and search for the right one for you; learn how to write a resume or cover letter, conduct an interview or find job openings. Note that much of what you can do overlaps with other categories below.

Career Cruising - Career Cruising is a career guidance system that will allow you to explore careers, take an interest inventory, find labor market information, get tips on resume writing and interviewing skills, develop an education plan, and much more! O*Net OnLine - O*Net is a unique, powerful source for continually updated occupational information. You can: find occupations to explore, search for occupations that use your skills, look at related occupations, view occupational summaries, view occupational details, connect to other online career information resources, and access comprehensive help information online. Best viewed in Internet Explorer.

Occupational Outlook Handbook - Occupational Outlook Handbook online. This site has information on employment trends and current hot jobs.

Occupational Outlook Quarterly - Occupational Outlook Quarterly online. This site, published quarterl, has up-to-date articles on employment trends and current hot jobs.

The Career Guide to Industries provides information on available careers by industry, including the nature of the industry, working conditions, employment, occupations in the industry, training and advancement, earnings and benefits, employment outlook, and lists of organizations that can provide additional information.

Creating a Resume - The University of Minnesota's "Resume Tutor" is a great source of information for individuals interested in creating a resume. A unique feature of this site is a "personalized workbook" for creating a resume. The site also describes and gives several examples of three kinds of resumes (reverse chronological, functional, and combination formats), and provides a section on how to write a resume. This last section provides detailed information and examples of the various parts of a resume, including identifying information, objectives, summary of qualifications, education, work experiences, and activities/interests.
