Requirements All new and readmitting students must submit an online application for admission. As shown here, certain categories of applicants must complete requirements in addition to submitting an online application for admission. Emeritus Students Individuals who are 65 years of age or older prior to the semester of enrollment and who reside within Washtenaw County may participate in the College's educational and cultural programs without tuition costs. However, these students must follow the general admission criteria of the College and pay the class-related mandatory course fees, if applicable, each semester. Emeritus students not paying tuition are registered for classes on a space available basis. If the class chosen by an emeritus student fills to capacity, the student will be notified by telephone and be given the option of staying in the class by paying the tuition. Or if the student prefers to have the emeritus scholarship applied to the full class, s/he will be placed on a waitlist for the class and an attempt will be made to move him/her into the class (based on seat availability). Guest Students From Other Colleges Students enrolled at another accredited U.S. college or university may attend WCC as guest students. This status is secured through completion of a Michigan Uniform Undergraduate Guest Application. A valid guest application:
Health Occupation Students If you are applying to a health occupation certificate and degree program you must meet additional admission requirements specific to the area of study. Admission to WCC does not guarantee admission to a health occupation certificate or degree program of study. Program admission requirements are:
High School Students WCC may admit High School students if they are at least 15 years of age and in the 10th grade or above. High School students must have assessment scores that meet Academic Level 6 in both Reading and Writing before admittance will be granted. High School students must also submit a Dual Enrollment Student Principal/Counselor Consent Form (PDF). Dual Enrolled Students are limited to a total of seven (7) credit hours per semester. Home School Students WCC may admit Home School students if they are at least 15 years of age and provide documentation of 10th grade level or above. Home School students must have assessment scores that meet Academic Level 6 in both Reading and Writing before admittance will be granted. Home School students must also submit a Dual Enrollment Student Principal/Counselor Consent Form (PDF). Home School Students are limited to a total of seven (7) credit hours per semester. International Students International students, whether applying for F-1 or other visa type, must complete special requirements. Visit the International Student Services website for more information. Minor Students Minor Students, students who are not yet 18 years of age, must submit a Minor Student Enrollment Parental Consent Form (PDF), even if they have graduated High School, unless they have emancipated legal status. Transfer Students Students transferring from other colleges follow the same procedure as new students. Those wishing to transfer credit from an accredited college or university may do so by requesting that an official transcript be sent to the WCC Office of Student Records for evaluation. The coursework may be evaluated, at the student's request, after the student has successfully completed at least one credit at WCC. At the time coursework is evaluated, the student is notified of the transfer credit that will be accepted toward certificate and degree requirements at WCC. | |||||||
