Websites Department of Education Sites www.fafsa.ed.gov (FAFSA on the web) Students can access this site to process a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the application for financial aid, via the internet. This process is fast and easy and will help prevent common errors that may occur when filling out a paper application. Links are available from this site to request a PIN, look up school codes, check the status of a submitted application, make corrections to a processed application and print a Student Aid Report. www.pin.ed.gov This site allows students and parents to register, verify, and change a pin number. This pin is used on all of US Department of Education sites. The pin also allows students and parents to electronically sign their FAFSA and to track the status of their application. www.nslds.ed.gov (NSLDS student access) A student may visit this site to get up to date information on their educational loans and/or grant amounts, outstanding balances, loan statuses, and disbursements. A PIN is required to access this site. www.ed.gov (U.S. Department of Education) This address is the homepage for the Department of Education, with many links to various other sites. Loan information Sites www.salliemae.com/manage This website allows students under the Sallie Mae loan program to view loan amounts, make payment arrangements and finance their education. www.michigan.gov/mistudentaid This site has a lot of information concerning paying for your education. It contains detailed information on all state and federal programs, scholarship searches and tool to help you plan your educational future. www.dlservicer.ed.gov (Direct Loans) This site allows students with William D. Ford Federal Direct Loans to manage their loans, assist students in making important repayment decisions and help in financing educations. (WCC no longer uses this loan program). Specific Government Sites www.irs.gov Visit the IRS Web site for documents, forms and to retrieve publications. www.sss.gov (Selective Service Web Site) The Selective Service System site provides information about the agency, registration and draft. It also allows males to register online and contains a database to verify if an individual has already registered. State of Michigan Sites www.michigan.gov/meritaward (Michigan Merit Award/Promise Grant) Students who were notified that they are eligible to receive the MEAP Scholarship or Michigan Promise Grant need to certify their award by logging on to this site and completing the online certification.
