Auditing a Class
Students who wish to audit a course must register and pay for that course following the established registration
procedures. Students do not receive credit for the course; however, the course is included on the transcript with
an "AU". Students may change from credit to audit status or vice versa early in the semester without the instructor's
permission. Students may make the same changes later in the semester if the instructor's authorization is obtained.
Refer to the
published deadlines
in the Academic Class Schedule for the semester in question.
Changing audit or credit status
Do this before the "Last Day to Change Credit or Audit Status Yourself" deadline listed on the
Semester and Drop/Add Dates page
by emailing or
by visiting the Student Connection.
After the "Last Day to Change Credit or Audit Status Yourself" deadline, students must
- Get a section/status change card from Student Connection, fill it out and sign it.
- Request that the instructor sign it (approval is entirely up to the instructor).
- Student must return completed card to Student Connection by the instructor permission deadline.
After the "Last Day to Change Credit or Audit Status with Instructor Signature" deadline
- Students may request an audit from the instructor as a final grade,
but approval is entirely up to the instructor.
