Preparing for Registration

If you have completed your admission requirements for credit courses, you may be ready to register. To make your registration process smoother, review the following information.

Find out if you have the Prerequisites

Review the Prerequisite information on the Prerequisites and Co-requisites page.

Resolve your hold status before registration begins

Students who have a hold on their record will need to take action before they will be allowed to register. Log into My WCC and check your student record online to see if you have any registration holds on your record. See the Registration Holds Chart and contact the appropriate office before you register to find out more about resolving your hold.

Plan Ahead to Pay

It's a good idea to figure out your payment arrangements in advance of registration so that you won't be dropped from your classes for non-payment. You must pay by the payment deadline to keep your classes. No exceptions.

Activate Your WCC Email Now

Activate Your Student Email now, if you haven't already done so. This will shorten your registration time, as all students will be asked to do this at registration if they have not done it in advance.

Read Your WCC Email

Read your email often: important WCC news will be sent to your WCC email account only, not via U.S. mail.

High School Students

You must turn in your signed consent form each semester before you will be allowed to register. Go to the Student Forms section. and look under the admissions heading.

Veterans' Benefits, 734-973-3616

If you are a veteran who is new to WCC, contact the Enrollment Services Veteran Certification Clerk before you register if interested in using your Veterans benefits. To be certified for benefits, fill out a V.A. Request To Be Certified Form each semester and whenever you add or drop classes. The form can be picked up from and submitted to the Student Connection. Veterans must fulfill payment responsibilities by published due dates. Additional information is available in the Veteran Information section.

Veterans: try the payment plan

Due to limited federal staffing, veterans' educational benefits are often delayed, sometimes until the semester ends. Enroll in the WCC student payment plan by the payment deadline to keep your classes. After you register, log into the WCC Billing and Payments System (also available from the "Log Into Billing & Payments" button on the homepage), then pick the payment plan tab and set up regular deductions from a bank account or credit card.

F1 Visa Students, ESL Students & Students in Academic Caution or Warning Status

These students will be able to register online after they see the appropriate College personnel. Students on an F1 student visa who hold an I-20 from WCC need to sumbit a "Request for Authorization" form (See Admissions page for form) to Student Connection every semester before they will be given permission to register.

Students in Academic Caution or Warning Status or students taking English as a Second Language classes must see a counselor or advisor in order to get permission to register. ESL students are welcome to visit the International Center on the second floor of the Student Center Building.
