Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Stephen Visel graduated from Ann Arbor Huron High school in 1999. Stephen went on to attend Washtenaw Community College’s Culinary Program and graduated in 2012 with an Associate’s Degree in culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. While attending the Culinary Arts Program at WCC, Stephen gained experience while working in many local restaurants. After graduating, Stephen began his professional career by working for Main Street Ventures as the Sous Chef for Gratzi, in downtown Ann Arbor. Stephen remained at Gratzi until 2015.
In 2015 Stephen accepted the Banquet Chef position at Barton Hills Country Club. While working here for the past Four years, Stephen stated he enjoys the relationships he has built with the club membership and also interacting with members during club events. Besides assisting with the 2018 and 2019 Mardis Gras event at WCC, Stephen has participated in many events which support local charities, hospitals and organizations.
