Associate in Arts

This associate degree program prepares students to transfer to a 4-year college or university and major in journalism. Four specialty courses provide a solid background in journalism-related content, including:

  • research,
  • writing,
  • reporting and
  • editing on print and digital platforms.

Our Writing Center (LA 355) serves students enrolled in English courses, as well as any WCC student or employee working on any writing project.

This is a high skill and high wage program as defined by the Michigan Community College Network.

This program prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution and major in journalism. Four specialty courses provide a solid background in journalism-related content. Students in the program will gain invaluable experience in areas of a career in journalism.
