WTMC In-person Learning Labs are Closing

November 16, 2020 Washtenaw Technical Middle College

Dear WTMC families,

We hope you and the people you love are safe and healthy. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has issued an emergency order that requires us to suspend in-person learning labs in order to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and their families.

This emergency order goes into effect Wednesday, November 18. WTMC learning labs will remain open Monday and Tuesday of this week (Nov. 16 & 17) but will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 18 and will remain closed for the remainder of the fall semester. WTMC classes will continue in their current, virtual format with no change to instruction.

WCC classes will continue in their current format. Students should continue to communicate with their college instructors and follow updates from WCC regarding changes to lab classes.

We understand the closure of in-person learning labs will impact many WTMC families. Through our partnership with WCC, WTMC will continue to work toward the goal of safely returning our students to campus when conditions allow.

Please stay safe,
Karl Covert, PhD
Dean/Superintendent
